General Rules
REGULARITY RECORD (Absence, Leave, Delay
- Morning Assembly and Punctuality:
School begins with the morning assembly and students are advised to arrive at least five minutes before the assembly. Thereafter students proceed to their respective classes silently.
- Absence without Leave:
Absence from school without leave is not permitted unless due to sudden illness or unforeseen circumstances, which must be reported to the school promptly.
- Recording Absences:
Reasons for absence must be entered briefly in the Regularity Record under “Absent” in the school calendar. Private reasons may be submitted in a letter. Parents/Guardians should inform the school on the 3rd day of prolonged absences.
- Illness-related Absences:
Absences due to illness for two or more days must be supported by a doctor’s prescription.
- Leave for Special Occasions:
Leave for religious ceremonies, weddings, or special occasions must be obtained in advance.
- Insufficient Reasons for Leave:
Leave for reasons like birthdays, excursions, festivals, weddings, or exam preparation is not considered sufficient.
- Recording Granted Leave:
Granted leave must be recorded in the Regularity Record under “Absent” and signed by the Principal/Assistant Principal.
- Exceeding Unauthorized Absence:
Unauthorized absence exceeding 15 days may lead to the student’s name being struck off from the schools register/rolls.
9. Tardiness:
Late arrival to school is considered a breach of discipline. Latecomers must record the date and time of arrival in the Regularity Record under “Late.” column.
- Consequences of Tardiness:
Five late arrivals prompt a meeting with the Principal. Ten late arrivals may result in suspension from school.
- Readmission Process:
Readmission for absentees and latecomers requires the Regularity Record duly countersigned by the Principal/Assistant Principal. Habitual latecomers may bans be sent back home.
- Responsibility for Absence Notification:
The school disclaims responsibility if a student fails to on produce a letter explaining absence or tardiness, resulting in the student returning home during school hours.
- Mandatory Attendance:
Attendance on days marked “Compulsory Attendance” is mandatory. Defaulters must seek readmission, notifying the Principal/Assistant Principal on the same day or earlier in case of sickness or emergencies.
